Indian Air Force is recently going to conduct Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) to select encouraging aspirants for the post of Flying and Ground Duty Officers. The recruitment procedure will comprise of an online exam for all of the applicants who have effectively presented their AFCAT Application structure. The online test comprises of 4 segments. Following are the details of the exam pattern in which AFCAT will conduct the exam.
Recruitment through AFCAT is conducted in 2 stages:
- Online AFCAT Test
- SSB
STAGE – First
STAGE – Second
STAGE – Third
STAGE – Fourth

- The Test will be conducted in Objective way.
- The examination paper will be in English only.
- For the correct answer, you will be given 3 marks each.
- For the wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
2. SSB
- Once you clear the online AFCAT Test, you will be eligible for SSB.
- The SSB is a 5-day long interview which consists of the following stages.
STAGE – First
STAGE-I appears to be the 1st day, and it is normally known as the Screening test. On this day you will go the following tests.
⇒ Officer’s Intelligence Rating Test.
⇒ Picture Perception Description Test.
If you are not able to clear Stage – I/Screening Test, you will be sent back.
STAGE – Second
Once you qualify Stage-First, you will appear for STAGE-Second which would normally take 3-4 days. In these particular days, you will go through the tests which are given below -:
⇒ Psychological Tests.
⇒ Group Tasks (Various Interactive indoor and outdoor activities).
⇒ Personal Interview
⇒ If you have applied for flying branch then, you will also have to undergo a Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) test.
STAGE – III
After qualifying STAGE – II, you will be called for Medical Examination.
STAGE – IV
Merit List will be prepared based on your performance in the Written Test & Interview.
