Siliguri Government Polytechnic
Siliguri Government Polytechnic is a government institute, which offers only diploma courses. There a total of 7 diploma courses, of which 5 are engineering courses, one is architecture and planning and one is under Pharmacy Programme. While there are 60 seats in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer and Technology and Pharmacy, there are 30 seats in Electrical Engineering and Architecture Assistantship.
The campus is 1.7 acres big with well-equipped and advanced facilities. There is a provision for smart classroom, good number of laboratories and workshops. The faculties have good qualification and are industry experienced to guide students in their respective courses. Many student activities takes place throughout the year. The college also focuses on developing soft skills for students and one such activity is language workshop to strengthen communication skills.

Siliguri Government Polytechnic Admission Procedure
- Admission in the first year: Students must have a valid JEXPO Rank.
- Lateral Entry Admission to second year diploma: Student must have a valid rank in VOCLET.
- 22% of the approved seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes, 6% of the same is reserved for Scheduled Tribe and 4% for physically challenged candidates.
- 20% of seats are reserved under district quota and remaining 80% is reserved under state quota. 25% of this district quota is reserved for female candidates.
Siliguri Government Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria
For admission in first year through counseling, students will require a valid rank in JEXPO-2018 and minimum 35% marks in aggregate (excluding marks of additional paper) in Madhyamik or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
For admission in 2nd year through lateral entry, students need a valid rank holders in VOCLET. Candidates must pass 12th Class Science with Vocational / Technical subjects or 10th + (2 year ITI) to be eligible for admission in this category.
