The given sentence talks about a certain person who was fired but from the jumbled parts it is evident that he was reinstated. Thus part P should come first where his current role is described and it also states how he came to that role (due to a resignation). Why the resignation occurred is described in part R which should come second, followed by part Q to finish the sentence. Thus option 3 is the correct answer.
