Read the passage given below and then answer the questions given below the passage. Some words may be highlighted for your attention. Read carefully.

The meeting consisted a plural group of people and they all looked at each other with questioning eyes. The news of their former employee, Arista, being taken under severe psychiatric care and losing her life while undergoing treatment shook them all. It went unsaid of the importance of paying more attention to self-care and mental health as their questioning eyes soon transformed to teary for some and intense shock for others. The group of people who would often be caught pulling each other’s leg, bantering over silly arguments, making hilarious impression, were all quiet this evening. As the screen went ahead with a slide show of reminiscing pictures of a face they were all too familiar with, the sun outside was setting. Today, no one made a whining complaint of wanting to leave early, in fact no one even glanced at their watches to check the time. It might be true after all, that a sense of collective guilt and sadness can bring together people the same way a happy occasion and free services does.

What is meant by “plural group”?

1). Many from one community
2). Combined males and females
3). People with clashing interests

The answer is different groups of people which implies diversity. Many from one community is not the meaning as it means coming from one single community and it implies representation or delegations than diversity. Combined males and females does not imply diversity for it is found in all kinds of groups and is not the factor of diversity. People with clashing interests can belong to the same community and not refer to diversity. Option 4 is the correct answer.
