Turgid means swollen. Bombastic means inflated. Fervent means enthusiastic.

But, supercilious means someone thinking oneself superior. So, its opposite must be someone who is humble or modest.

e.g. Hiralal was a modest man, despite all his millions. 

Therefore, the correct answer is option 2.
