‘Irk’ means to irritate. The opposite of ‘irk’ then would be to ‘please’. Hence the correct option is ‘please’. ‘Irritate’ is synonymous to ‘irk’ while ‘discourage’ means to lower a person’s morale which is not the opposite of ‘irk’.$ $
