Let the distance to be covered be y km and the ratio of the speed of the 3 racers = 3z : 4z : 6z

⇒ Time taken = distance covered/speed

⇒ Time taken by 1^st racer = y/(3z)

⇒ Time taken by 2^nd racer = y/(4z)

⇒ Time taken by 3^rd racer = y/(6z)

Ratio of the 3 times periods = y/(3z) : y/(4z) : y/(6z)

⇒ 1/3 : 1/4 : 1/6 = 4/12 : 3/12 : 2/12

⇒ 4 : 3 : 2
