  • Justice Lingappa Narayana Swamy was appointed as the acting Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court on 17 January 2019.
  • His appointment came after the elevation of Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari to the Supreme Court. 
  • Justice Narayana Swamy was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court in 2007 and was made a permanent judge in 2009.
