From point P, at 6:30 pm, a train starts moving towards Q with the speed of 40 km/hr. Another train starts moving from point Q at 7:30 p.m. towards point P at the speed of 60 km/hr. Both of them meet at 11:30 p.m. at point R. What is the ratio of PR and QR?

Let train A with 40 km/hr speed starts from point P, moving towards point Q

And train B with 60 km/hr speed stars from point Q, moving towards point P.

Time taken by train A to reach at point R = 5 hr

And time taken by train B to reach at point R = 4 hr

Distance covered by train A to reach at point R = 5 × 40 = 200

And distance covered by train B to reach at point R = 4 × 60 = 240

Thus, PR = 200 km & QR = 240 km

∴ PR : QR = 200 : 240 = 5 : 6
