The blank contains, on either sides of it, two complete sentences. This suggests that the blank must contain a conjunction. 'Always' and 'also' are adverbs and cannot be correct. 'No sooner-than' is the correct conjunction and not 'no sooner-then'. 'While' is used to show passage of time, so cannot be used here. 'As soon as' is the only conjunction that can suport the meaning of the sentences and join them. Therefore, the correct answer is option 2.
