The ratio of incomes of Anshal and Sneha is 5 : 3, let’s assume the incomes are 5x and 3x respectively.

Ratio of expenditures of Anshal and Sneha is 8 : 5, let the expenditures be 8y and 5y respectively.

? their savings are in ratio 2 : 1, Anshal’s saving = 2/3 × 3687 = 2458

Also, Sneha’s saving = 1229

∴ Saving of Anshal = 5x – 8y = 2458        ---- (i)

Saving of Sneha = 3x – 5y = 1229        ---- (ii)

Solving the two equations: we get: x = 2458, y = 1229

∴ Income’s Anshal = 5x = 5 × 2458 = 12290
