Given, ratio of the present age of a man and his wife is 6 : 5.

Let the present age of man and wife be 6a and 5a respectively.

Given, 5 years after the ratio of their ages will be 7:6.

$(\therefore \frac{{6a + 5}}{{5a + 5}} = \frac{7}{6})$

⇒ 36a + 30 = 35a + 35

⇒ a = 5

∴ man’s age = 30 and woman’s age = 25

Let they were married ‘b’ years ago.

Given, ratio of their ages at the time of their marriage was 5 : 4.

$(\therefore \frac{{30 - b}}{{25 - b}} = \frac{5}{4})$

⇒ 120 – 4b = 125 – 5b

⇒ 5 = b
