Given, a fruit seller buys mangoes at the rate of 16 for Rs. 12 and sells then at the rate of Rs. 16 per dozen.

C.P. of 1 mango = 12/16 = Rs. ¾

S.P. of 1 mango = 16/12 = Rs. 4/3

Gain $(= \frac{4}{3} - \frac{3}{4} = Rs.\frac{7}{{12}})$

Gain% $(= \frac{{gain}}{{C.P.}} \times 100\% = \;\frac{{\frac{7}{{12}}}}{{\frac{3}{4}}} \times 100\%)$

⇒ Gain% = 700/9 % = 77.77%
