  • Aldosterone, a type of corticosteroid is a hormone that is secreted by the adrenal gland and it regulates the salt balance in the blood which in turn helps control the blood pressure.
  • Also known as the suprarenal gland, an adrenal gland is a small, triangular structure that is attached at the top of each kidney.
  • Located in the neck, the thyroid gland mainly secretes thyroxine and triiodothyronine and is responsible for regulating brain development, muscle control, metabolism rate and heart and digestive functions.
  • Thymus gland is a part of the immmune system whereas corpus luteum is a temporary, hormone secreting mass of cells that is formed in the female ovaries and is therfore concerned with the reproductive system.
