Correct option - 1

Let's find out the meaning of the following words:-

Foisted - impose an unwelcome or unnecessary person or thing on someone.

Persistent - continuing firmly or strongly in an opinion or course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.

Chuckled - laugh quietly or inwardly.

Fervently - very enthusiastically or passionately.

Arduously - involving in something difficult and tiring.

Now, with reference to the context, word 'persistent', 'chuckled' and 'fervently' are out of context. Hence, options 2, 3 & 4 are eliminated. Now, women do not involve in social norms or safety concerns. These are being imposed upon them. Hence, option 5 is eliminated. Thus, option 1 i.e. foisted is the correct answer.
