Only phrases C and D combine to form grammatically and contextually correct sentence. A-F form contextually correct sentences, but the error in phrase A makes the sentences grammatically incorrect. Phrases B and E are independent of each other and cannot be combined to form a coherent sentence. Also, these do not form meaningful sentence with any other phrase.
Phrases B and F have same theme but they do not form a meaningful sentence when combined together. Similarly, phrases C and E share the same theme but they do not form a coherent sentence.
A-F :- ‘exist’ must replace ‘existing’ in phrase A. ‘exist’ is a verb, whereas ‘existing’ is an adjective. ‘existing’ is used to ‘describe existence or operation (of something) at the current time’. ‘exist’ means ‘occur or be found’. ‘liquor vends’ are found in a place, therefore ‘exist’ is the correct word here.
C-D :- Phrase C talks about the unhealthy condition of a building. Phrase D tells that even though the building is in a bad state its historical significance was unveiled. Thus, the two phrases combine to form a coherent sentence.
Hence, option 3 is the correct answer.
