If on a Sale there is 30% discount on the marked price of Rs. 2500, but the sale is done at Rs. 1400 only. What additional discount (in %) did the customer get?

Price after 30% discount can be given as

⇒ Price after 30 % discount = 2500 × (1 - 30/100) = Rs. 1750

But it was sold for Rs. 1400

additional discount = 1750 - 1400 = 350

Discount percentage can be given as

⇒ Discount percentage = 350 × 100/1750 = 20%

∴ The additional discount is 20%
