Basmati and Ponni rice are mixed in the ratio of 2 ? 3

⇒ Amount of Basmati in 1 kg of the mixture = 2/5 kg

⇒ Amount of Ponni rice in 1 kg of the mixture = 3/5 kg

⇒ Price of 2/5 kg of Basmati rice in Rs. = 2/5 × 30 = Rs. 12

⇒ Price of 3/5 kg of Ponni rice in Rs. = 3/5 × 20 = Rs. 12

⇒ Price of 1 kg of the mixed variety = Rs. (12 + 12) = Rs. 24

∴ Price of 2 kg of the mixed variety = Rs. (2 × 24) = Rs. 48
