A can complete the work in 15 days.

⇒ A’s 1 day’s work = 1/15

B can complete the work in 10 days.

⇒ B’s 1 day’s work = 1/10

According to problem A and B work on alternate days.

⇒ Their 2 day’s work = (1/15) + (1/10) = 1/6

[? A works on 1st day and B works on 2nd day]

⇒ Their (6 × 2 =) 12 day’s work = 6 × (1/6) = 1

∴ The total work will be completed in 12 days.
