In a building there are certain number of floors. These floors are numbered consecutively according to decimal number system starting from ground floor being numbered 1 and so on.

There are five floors above the floor on which Potter family live. There are two floors between Iyer family and Tripathi family. Padukone family lives on an odd numbered floor exactly between the floors on which Gupta family & lyer family live. There is one floor between the floors on which Potter family and Gupta family live.
