Total distance travelled by train to cross the platform = 1250 m = 1.25 km

Total distance travelled by train for the journey = 150km

Total time taken = 150/50 = 3 hours

Time taken to cross the platform = 10 minutes = 1/6 hr

Distance except the platform = 150 – 1.25 = 148.75 km

Time taken for the rest of the journey = 3 – 1/6 = 17/6 hr

∴ Speed during the rest of the journey = 148.75 × 6 / 17 = 52.5 km/hr
