Let the number of students in Chemical be a and number of students in Electronics be b.
$(\therefore\;\frac{{2.45\;\times\;a\;+\;3.56\;\times\;b}}{{a\;+\;b}}\;=\;3.12)$
⇒ 2.45a + 3.56b = 3.12a + 3.12b
⇒ 0.44b = 0.67a
