Let the initial marked price be Rs. 100

First discount = 10%

New selling price = Rs. 90

Successive discount = 20%

Final selling price = 90 - (20/100) × 90 = Rs. 72

Total discount percentage = (100 - 72)/100 × 100 = 28%
