Let the speed of boat in still water be ‘x’ km/h

x = 17 km/h (Given)

Let the speed of current (stream) be ‘y’ km/h

Upstream speed = Speed of boat in still water – Speed of current

⇒ 10 = 17 – y

⇒ y = 17 – 10

⇒ y = 7

∴ Speed of current = 7 km/h
