? Pumps P, Q and R will fill1/6, 1/10 and 1/12 of the tank in one hour respectively.

Let x hours is required for pumps Q and R to fill the remaining tank after pump P goes down.

∴ (1/6 + 1/10 + 1/12) × 3/2 + (1/10 + 1/12) × x = 1

⇒ 21/40 + 11x/60 = 1

⇒ x = 57/22

∴ Total hours required = 3/2 + 57/22 = 45/11 hr i.e. 11 : 05 pm
