The correct answer is option 2, i.e. BCD.

The error is in part A of the above sentence as ‘a’ is grammatically incorrect and must be replaced with ‘an’. ‘An’ is used before the words having a vowel sound and ‘eatery’ contains a vowel sound in it and thus, ‘a’ must be replaced with ‘an’. The given sentence might look correct on first reading but effective reading plays an important role in highlighting the correction.

Hence, the sentence can be correctly rewritten as, The 40-year-old owner of an eatery near Kolkata was shot dead on Sunday after asking a customer named Mohammad Firoz to pay earlier dues of ?190.
