Total runs scored by player = 140 × 40 = 5600

Let the highest score be x

His lowest score = x - 170

Total runs scored in the remaining 38 matches = 136 × 38 = 5168

Highest + lowest score = 5600 - 5168

x + (x – 170) = 432

x = 301

Lowest score = 301 – 170 = 131
