Let us take the large number as 'x' and small number as 'y'.

It is given that,

Difference between the two numbers = 30% of larger number

                                                           x - y = x × 30/100

It is also given that, smaller number is 14 so,

                                                         x - 14 = 30x/100

                                            100 ( x - 14 ) = 30x

                                            100 x - 1400 = 30x

                                              100 x - 30 x = 1400

                                                           70 x = 1400

                                                                x = 1400 / 70

                                                                x = 20

Therefore, the larger number is 20 .

The correct option is D).20
