A pipe can fill a tank in 'x' hours and another pipe can empty it in'y' (y > x) hours. If both the pipes are open , in how many hours will the tank be filled ?

A pipe can fill a tank in 'x' hours and another pipe can empty it in'y' (y > x) hours. If both the pipes are open , in how many hours will the tank be filled ?
