48/x -4 = 48/x+1 => 12-1/x = 12/x+1 => (12 - x) (x+1) = 12x => (x+4) (x+3) So, x= 3 Now, old price Rs 16 & new price = 48/3 = Rs. 12

 let original price be x per dozen ,

  • New price =x-4 per dozen
  • Original no of pins=48/x dozen
  • Nee no of pin = 48/x-4 dozen
  • Acc to equestion 
  • 48/x-4-48/x=1...solve it u get 16 from this new price =16-4=12
