In the following passage there are blanks, each of which has been numbered. These numbers are printed below the passage and against each, five words are suggested, one of which fits the blank appropriately. Find out the appropriate word in each case.
Clement Atlee became the Prime Minister of England after the Second World War. Winston Churchill who had successfully (1) England and the allies to victory over Hitler was now rejected by the English people at the .hustings. Labour Party was (2) power and Atlee became the Prime Minister. One of his memorable tasks was that he was (3) in granting India its freedom.
