‘Vicinity’ is$ ‘the area around a particular place’, and it is the best substitute for the given words.$

The other options carry very different meanings.$

‘Horizon’ is ‘the furthest line you can see, where the sky appears to meet the land or the sea’.$

‘Distant’ and ‘removed’ are adjectives and not nouns and are incorrect answers.$
