24 men can repair a road in 50 days. If they are joined by 16 more men, then in how much time (in days) the road can be repaired?
1). 28
2). 25
3). 32
4). 30
We know that,
(M1 × D1)/W1 = (M2 × D2)/W2
According to the question
Since work is same in both the cases hence it is taken as 1
⇒ (24 × 50)/1 = [(24 + 16) × D2]/1
⇒ D2 = (24 × 50)/40 = 30 days
∴ the road can be repaired in 30 daysWe know that,
