Affliction means a state of pain or stress. Stupor is a state of near unconsciousness. To castigate is to reprimand or scold someone.$

Out of the given options, only 'apsconding'$ is spelt incorrectly. Its correct spelling should be 'absconding'$, which means leaving hurriedly and secretly, usually to avoid detection or arrest.$

e.g. The absconding criminal was finally caught by the police.

Therefore, the correct answer is option 1.
