500 soldiers can last for 40 days

1 soldier can last for = 500 × 40 days

After 15 days; food left = 20000 - 15 × 500 = 12500 units

Total number of men = 500 - 200 = 300

After 15 more days; food left = 12500 - 15 × 300 = 8000 units

Total number of men = 300 - 200 = 100

Total number of days for which the total supplies will last = (8000/100) = 80

Number of days food lasted = 15 + 15 + 80 = 110
