Let the total runs scored in 51st innings be a.

Given,

Average runs scored in 50 innings = 59.6

Total runs scored in 50 innings = 59.6 × 50 = 2980

Given,

Average runs scored in 51 innings = 60

Total runs scored in 51 innings = 60 × 51 = 3060

Then,

⇒ a = 3060 - 2980

⇒ a = 80

∴ He scored 80 runs in his 51st innings.
