Sporozoite is the infective stage in the life cycle of the malarial parasite, Plasmodium.
Malaria is an infectious disease caused by protozoans belonging to the genus Plasmodium and it is transmitted in humans and other animals through the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito.
From the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito, the sporozoites enter into the human body and quickly pass into the liver where they divide and mature into schizonts which subsequently rupture and release merozoites into the bloodstream. This is when symptoms such as fever, chills, etc begin to appear.
