Shiv Narayan Agnihotri was the founder of Dev Samaj.
He was an active member of Brahmo Samaj till 1887, after which he left it and formed Dev Samaj in February 1887.
The fundamental objective of Dev Samaj is to propagate beauty, truth, and goodness in thoughts, action, and speech, among all the classes of people, irrespective of their color, creed, caste, or country.
