Directions: Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below:

There are 9 floors in a building numbered 1 to 9 with the ground floor reserved for parking. 9 families Mathews, Rathores, Khandelwals, Jamwals, Kaushiks, Bhatnagars, Malhotras, Srivastavas and Dalmias live there but not necessarily in the same order. They have the following number of members in their family- 3, 4, 2, 6, 12, 10, 9, 7 and 5 but not necessarily in the same order.

Bhatnagars live on 2nd floor and have 3 people. The number of people in Malhotras family is one third of the floor on which they live. Kaushiks live on the topmost floor and have maximum number of people in their family. Rathores stay on fourth floor just above Srivastavas who have one more family member than their floor number. Khandelwals have the same number of people as the floor number of Kaushiks. Jamwals live between Khandelwals and Kaushiks but above Dalmias and they have half the family members as Kaushiks. Dalmias have the same number of people as the floor on which they live. Mathews have the second highest number of family members.
Which family lives just below Khandelwals and on which floor?
1). None of these
2). Malhotras, 6th floor
3). Jamwal, 6th floor
4). Malhotras, 8th floor

9 families: Mathews, Rathores, Khandelwals, Jamwals, Kaushiks, Bhatnagars, Malhotras, Srivastavas and Dalmias.

Number of members in their family: 3, 4, 2, 6, 12, 10, 9, 7 and 5.

1) Bhatnagars live on 2nd floor and have 3 people.

2) The number of people in Malhotras family is one third of the floor on which they live (one third of 3 is 1 but that is not there, 1/3rd of 9 is 3 and Bhatnagars have 3 people, hence it is floor 6 and 2 members).

3) Kaushiks live on the topmost floor and have maximum number of people in their family (i.e. 9th floor and 12 members).

4) Rathores stay on fourth floor just above Srivastavas who have one more family member than their floor number (3 + 1 = 4).

5) Khandelwals have the same number of people as the floor number of Kaushiks (Khandelwals have 9 family members).

6) Jamwals live between Khandelwals and Kaushiks but above Dalmias and they have half the family members as Kaushiks (Jamwals have 6 family members).

7) Dalmias have the same number of people as the floor on which they live (the leftout floor number and family members which match is 5).

8) Mathews have the second highest number of family members (i.e. 10).

Hence, Malhotras are just below Khandelwals on 6th floor.
