Note:
Strike rate = [(Total runs scored)/(Total balls played)] × 100
All the batsmen get batting in the participated match
Few values are missing in the table which are expected to calculate.
What is the number of match played by player S if the number of balls faced by player S is 24% of total balls faced by player P, Q and T?
Average runs of player S = 52
Strike rate of player S = 160
Let the total runs of player S = x
Average = Total runs/Total number of matches
Number of matches of player S = x/52
Strike rate = (Total runs/Total balls faced) × 100
Total balls faced by Players P, Q and T = (1000 + 1050 + 1200) = 3250
Balls faced by player S = 24% of 3250 = 0.24 × 3250 = 780 balls
Putting the value in strike rate equation,
160 = (x/780) × 100
⇒ x = (160 × 78)/10
⇒ x = 1248 runs
Number of match played by S = Total runs/Average
⇒ 1248/52
⇒ 24
∴ Required answer = 24
