Bachelor of Design Selection Process

For candidates to the UG Design programmes, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a

1. Creative Ability Test (CAT)
2. General Ability Test (GAT),
3. followed by a situation test to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates of the written examination.

Bachelor of Fashion Technology Selection Process

For candidates to the UG Fashion Technology programme, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a

1. General Ability Test (GAT).

Master of Design Selection Process

For candidates to the PG Design programme, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a

NIFT 2019 Exam Basic Guidelines

• Exam Mode: NIFT 2019 Entrance Exam will be offline. It will be OMR Based Test, candidates need to mark their answers in OMR sheet.
• Exam duration: The duration of GAT written test will be 2 hours (for B.Des & M.Des) and 3 hours (for B.F.Tech, MFM & M.F.Tech).
• Number of Questions: Total 100 questions will be asked in GAT for B.Des and 120 questions will be asked for M.Des. 150 questions will be asked in B.F.Tech, MFM & M.F.Tech.
• Language: The paper medium will be English only.
• Papers: For B.Des and M.Des, two written exams will be conducted i.e. GAT & CAT whereas for B.F.Tech, MFM & M.F.Tech only GAT will be conducted.
• Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking.

List of NIFT Exam Centres for the Candidates apply for the NIFT Entrance Exam 2019. Candidates can choose any of the above test centre of their choice.

It is to be noted that, once a test centre is alotted no request of changing it will be entertained by the NIFT Entrance Exam Organising Body.
