Part of tank filled by P in 1 hour = 1/60

Part of tank filled by Q in 1 hour = 1/90

⇒ Part of tank filled by both in 1 hour = 1/60 + 1/90 = (3 + 2)/180 = 5/180

∴ Time taken by both to fill the tank = 180/5 = 36 hours
