A number when subtracted from 5 times of 64, the result obtained is 4 less than 8 times the number. Find the number.

Let the number be ‘x’

⇒ (5 × 64) – x = 8x – 4

⇒ 8x + x = 320 + 4

⇒ 9x = 324

⇒ x = 324/9 = 36

∴ The number is 36
