Ram walked at 5 km/hr for certain part of journey and then he took a train for the remaining part of journey travelling at 50 km/hr. If he took 6 hours for the entire journey then find time journey he travelled by train if average speed was 24 km/hr?

Average speed = total distance/total time.

⇒ total distance = 24 × 6 = 144 km

Total distance = distance on foot + distance by train

⇒ distance by train = 144 – 5 = 139 km

∴ Time taken in train journey = 139/50 hr
