A sentence has been given in Active/Passive Voice. Out of the four given alternatives, select the one which best expresses the same sentence in Passive/Active Voice. 

The officer cuts down the tree.


1). The tree is cut down by the officer.
2). The tree got cut down by the officer.
3). The tree is cut by the officer.
4). The tree cut by the officer.

Cuts down = present tense. We make passive form of present tense using is/am/are + past participle of cut down. Option 1) the tree is cut down by the officer  is the correct answer.

Note: You can't delete any information from the sentence while changing its voice. 3) eliminates down and thus, is not correct.
