A train crosses a running man who is running at a speed of 7 km/hr in the same direction in which the train is going in 15 seconds. The length of the train is 150m.Calculate speed of the train?
Speed of the train relative to the man = (150/15) m/sec = 10 m/s
⇒ Speed of the train relative to the man = (10 × 18/5) = 36 km/hr
Let the speed of the train be x km/hr. Then, relative speed = (x – 7) km/hr
⇒ x – 7 = 36
∴ x = 43 km/hr
