 If 5 men and 3 boys can reap 23 hectares in 4 days and if 3 men and 2 boys can reap 7 hectares in 2 days, how many boys must assist 7 men in order to reap 45 hectares in 6 days ?

5m + 3b can reap 23 hectare in 4 days …..(i)
3m + 2b can reap 7 hectare in 2 days ……..(ii)
From I :
 14(5m + 3b) can reap 23 x 14 hectare in 4 days.
From II :
23(3m + 2b) can reap 7 x 2 x 23 hectare in 4 days .
Therefore,
14(5m + 3b) = 23 (3m + 2b)
= 70m + 42b = 69m + 46b
= m = 4b
By Rule of Fraction we get the required result.
23 x 45/23 x 4/6
